Easy Café
Located close to the Chao Fah Pier in Krabi Town, this café is the best place to go to when you just arrived in Krabi or about to leave with the ferry. Besides the advantageous location, Easy Café has hands down one of the most delicious assortments of coffees. If you visit later in the day then they have a full Thai and Western menu to choose from too.
Café 8.89
By now there are two Café 8.98 – the original one in Ao Nang and a new on in Krabi Town that opened in late 2017. Less of a quiet café and more of a ‘destination’ in its own right, Café 8.98 pleases locals and tourists alike with high quality coffee and excellent brunches. With an extensive menu that covers everything, you could wish for at any time of the day.
Chalita Café & Restaurant
Known for its homely atmosphere and welcoming staff, Chalita Café & Restaurant is settled in one of the traditional vintage wooden houses that give a lot of charm to this neighbourhood of Krabi Town. The restaurant serves outstanding Thai food at great prices and prioritises the customer experience with excellent service and helpful advice. Customer favourites include the delicious local pad Thai (100 Baht) and the rich and flavourful Massaman curry (140 Baht). The Italian owner also serves Italian dishes at bargain rates, including delicious and authentic pizzas, and other western favourites.
BUZZ Organic Food & Drinks
As the name suggests, this café works solely with organic ingredients and offers a wide variety of vegetarian and vegan options. The coffees, teas and breakfast bowls can be made with almond milk for no extra cost and the organic dishes are clearly marked on the menu. The vegan breakfast has been hailed as the best in Asia- try it for yourself to see what all the fuss is about!
Gecko Cabane Krabi
Come to Gecko Cabane if you are looking for a mix of sumptuous European bites mixed with Asian fusion plates, all served in a relaxed atmosphere and cool settings. One of the signatures of this restaurant is that you get to customise your dishes according to how much spice you can take. You can order a spice level of one to ten depending on how fiery you like your food, and this is a good spot for those who want to try Thai dishes but are wary of the sometimes strong flavours. There are a lot of vegetarian options available like Massaman curry or pineapple fried rice and, for dessert, you can feast on treats such as the retro banana flambé.
The Last Fisherman in Krabi
The Last Fisherman is a tropical restaurant dream come true: set right on Ao Nang Beach – on its southern part – this bar and restaurant made of recovered materials, thatch and bamboo and driftwood (the only modern material used is the white plastic chairs), offers its punters a chill-out place at which they can dine with their toes in the sand under the shade of coconut and tropical almond trees. The Last Fisherman is certainly not a fine-dining venue, but it serves pretty decent food – western snacks, Thai favourites, and daily barbecue in the evening – as well as a great choice of excellent cocktails.
Hub Café
A visit to Hub Café is about more than just the food. The location is beautiful; think jungle-clad karst mountains serving as the backdrop to the unusual wooden architecture of the café building. A trip here is about more than just the views however, and the menu doesn’t disappoint. Coffees, teas and juices are all done well and the cake selection is extensive. If you’re after a bigger meal then the burgers are highly recommended. Sit back, sip your drink and soak up the surroundings.
