Yash and I first spoke sometime in 2022. He had mailed us expressing his interest to be a trip leader. He told me that he had experience as a trip leader and had lead over 50 trips for people over the age of fifty!

The thing I remember from that call is how polite and soft spoken he was. There was a gentleness about his manners, that wasn’t very common.

That initial impression hasn’t changed at all. Every time we talk, I feel the same about him. I am not surprised at all that seniors loved him.

Another fact I liked when I spoke to him was his happiness in seeing people happy, in pushing people to do things they aren’t sure they can. It’s a trait we think is essential for anyone working at OHOT.

I asked him to assist me on a Kerala trip and then Yash became a full time OHOT trip leader. In his very first year, Yash lead more trips for OHOT than any trip leader has in a calendar year. 22 trips! Out of these, there were quite a few international ones as well – Bali, Thailand, Sri Lanka, Vietnam!

Effortlessly, Yash weaved his way into OHOT, into trip reels, into trippers’ hearts. His love for nature is infectious, and if there is a waterfall, or an ocean, our man is definitely jumping in! He was madly running into the ferocious, sea in Nusa Penida island and though the waves slapped the hell out of him, he was playing around like a little boy and being as happy as happy could be.

Yash boy is deep, and quite in touch with his emotions. Heh, read his posts and you shall nod in agreement! He is always positive, up for leading back to back trips, and still super energetic! His calm, unflappable nature puts trippers at ease, and dosti becomes effortless 😉

We keep seeing messages where trippers write on how much they enjoyed with him. Recently three trippers from his Sri Lanka trip cancelled their return flights on the last day, to join his Andamans trip the VERY NEXT DAY.
