This is what Captain Nero has to say about Fariya-
Fariya first came on a trip with me three years back to Coonoor. It was a short trip, and our acquaintance even shorter! 🙂
Over the years, over Instagram, I did notice her travels. She was trekking up one mountain after another in Maharashtra, skiing in Kashmir and more. There was that streak of adventure and love for nature in her. I like that.
Sometime this year, she expressed her desire to be a trip leader. I asked her to assist me on a weekend trip in Maharashtra.
It was going to be a 1.5 day trip so it would be difficult for me to judge how good she could be. It also gave her a smaller window to perform or show her skills.
But what I saw in Fariya that weekend, I really liked. She really cares about trippers, is super concerned about giving everyone a good trip. She would fall back in the trek to make sure to be there for anyone who needed help. She tried her best to connect with everyone.
Fariya lead her first trip independently for OHOT to Gurez valley in Kashmir. It was a success. She then also lead trips to Goa and Vietnam. Her next trip, this new years is to Bhutan.
In Fariya, I have found a young girl chasing her dreams one step at a time. In her I see a very decent person, simplicity, dedication and the trait that is most important for any person to lead trips for OHOT – the burning desire to do the best one can for trippers.
She has OHOT team’s full backing, the love and support of her friends and family. World, welcome her.
