Overview
We are going to do the Dzokou Valley Trek and it’s probably one of the most surreal places ever. Ever since our first trip, we have wanted to take people there and show them the beautiful world of Nagaland.
This trip is going to be quite different from many. We aren’t doing a touristy sightseeing trip of the northeast, so come on this trip if you want to discover the true north-east.
We are road tripping right into the heart of Nagaland, driving through hills and mountains, passing by streams and dipping in them, hiking up green hills to see beautiful sunrises and sunsets and much more. We shall be sampling local cuisine, we shall be walking through bazaars and we shall try to absorb the place and get to know a little more about them. We are staying in a cute boutiqe homestay in Kohima, and camping in Dzokou and a Naga village – so if it’s an adventure you seek and also a little culture, this trip is for you.
We are going to Dzokou Valley – one of our favourite treks in the country, and you shall have never seen a landscape like that before in any trek. We are going to camp there at night, and if you lie down on the grass, expect to see a thousand stars and a dozen shooting stars! Dzokou Valley is love.
We are also headed to observe the Naga culture at Khonoma heritage village. We’ll interact with the locals, learn their history and immerse a little in their culture. From visiting places of historical significance such as the Morungs to the Chief’s House, this trip is all about getting to experience the life of your Naga brothers and sisters.
A campsite and a cosy hotel in Kohima are all going to play your home on this trip to take you away from the concrete jungles of the cities, to bring you closer to nature and leave you soaking in the charming simplicities of life.
