1. List of documents –

• Valid passport: at least 6 months validity from date of arrival
• Completed ETA (Electronic Travel Authorization) application
• Return air ticket or onward travel proof
• Proof of sufficient funds for stay in Sri Lanka
• Hotel booking confirmation
• Recent passport-size photograph (digital upload for ETA)
• Travel insurance (recommended though not mandatory)

2. Visa processing time –

• ETA is generally approved within 24 hours
• Recommended: apply at least 48–72 hours before travel

3. Visa Type (ETA)

• Indians must obtain an ETA (Electronic Travel Authorization) online before arrival

4. Where to apply from?-

• Online via official Sri Lanka ETA website

5.  Visa cost-
• Tourist ETA (30 days, double entry): Free of charge for Indian citizens (valid until March 31, 2025, under Sri Lanka’s free visa scheme)
• After that: approx. USD 20 (online) or USD 25 (on arrival)
