Overview:
Sikkim is one of my favourite places in India. Our quest is to begin in Gangtok and go to the very north of Sikkim, till India’s second highest lake – Gurudongmar!
We love North Sikkim – it’s stunningly beautiful – snowy mountains, rivers bustling everywhere, little streams flowing under bridges, waterfalls popping out of everywhere, yaks grazing in the meadows, horses running wild and more.
We are going to the stunning Gurudongmar Lake. The route is stunningly beautiful, with waterfalls, icy streams, rhododendrons, poppies, tiny villages and hairy hilly dogs standing all along the way. We shall also spend two days each in the villages of Lachen and Lachung, which have stunning views of the snow capped mountains, wild flowers and more.
