Things to Carry: Vietnam March 2020

Glad you booked our Vietnam March 2020 trip and I hope you are mighty excited. Thought we’d share a list of things to keep in mind, and carry for the trip.

1) Regarding visa –
For Vietnam apply for the visa on arrival. Vietnam requires you to obtain an approval letter for your visa on arrival. You can apply directly on www.govietnamvisa.com. The application process is pretty straightforward. It takes 2 working days to process. You must carry a printout of the approval letter once it’s mailed to you.
While the visa process is straightforward it is best to apply right away. So, please get started on the same asap.
Also, carry the following documents with you during the trip:
a) Indian Citizen Passport valid for at least 30 days. Also carry a few copies of your passport.
b) Return/onward journey air ticket for flying out of each country. Print outs.
c)Four passport size (4 x 6 cm) photos
d) Filled-in Visa on Arrival application form.
e) You will pay USD 20 at the counter in person and USD18 online when you submit your application.
2) Regarding currency: While expenses would amount to roughly Rs.15,000 – 20,000 (This is subjective), to be on the safe side it is suggested you carry USD300. It is always better to carry a little extra money as backup. You can always convert it back to INR when you are in India if your money gets left after the trip. Also, USD and an international card/Forex card would work better. You can convert some dollars to the local currency at Vietnam itself.
3) You can buy an international SIM in India if you want, but it will be much cheaper to buy it in Vietnam itself. You can purchase the SIM at the airport itself for USD8.
4) Carry sunscreen, sun glasses, caps/sunny hats, tees, shorts. For Halong Bay a swimsuit or any clothes you are comfortable getting wet in.
We will of course conduct random photo shoots wherever we please. 😉 So, carry whatever you want to wear!
5) Hotels: Our hotels are as follows –
Hanoi – Focus Boutique hotel/similar
Cat Ba island – Sea Pearl hotel/similar
Hoi An – EMM hotel/similar
Siem Reap – eOcambo Resort and Spa/similar
6)  It would be awesome if you have a pair of music speakers and could get them. Could use it for our night party sessions!
7)  Ball/frisbee/Uno cards/playing cards/Taboo cards always come in handy on group trips. 😀
8) Girls, we would recommend you carry sanitary pads/tampons considering how many women have irregular period cycles during travel.
9) Please carry universal adapters for your electronics.
10) Vegetarians it’s highly recommended that you carry MTR and other instant cook remedies. The places we are visiting can be a little limited on the vegetarian food front, thus, carrying some food remedies would surely be helpful for you.
