Things To Carry: Sikkim April 2021

Glad you booked our Sikkim April 2021 trip and we hope you are mighty excited. Thought we’d share a list of things to keep in mind, and carry for the trip.

Covid-19 Compliance

1. Covid-19 negative certificate: As mentioned before, each individual joining us for this trip will have to undergo a Covid-19 test. The negative result of the test, dated not earlier than 72 hours before the day of arrival in Bagdogra, shall have to be carried along for the trip (Digital Copy). Please note, that you will have to send the certificate to us by April 2nd. It’s a must, and no one will be allowed to join the trip if they have not submitted the certificate.

2.Carry a Covid Preventive Kit: A personal sanitizer, face masks and gloves. Do carry a small first aid kit. I will be carrying a first aid kit myself, but it helps if you are carrying one too. It is also advisable to invest in a PPE kit if you are taking a flight. A surface disinfectant is recommended too.

Things to carry:

3. On the trip, please also carry 6 passport size photos and the original photo id who’s copy you are going to mail us.

4. It’s going to be mostly pleasant weather in Gangtok. Temperatures will be around mid twenties in the day, and around 10 – 12 degrees at night. North Sikkim will be around 10 degrees in the day and in single digits at night. Lake Gurudongmar will also be quite cold when we get there.

Please carry clothes accordingly. It is important to layer yourself well. Carry a pair of thermals (both lower and upper) which will act as the innermost protective layer. Above your tees or shirts, wear a sweater. A thick jacket will protect you from cold winds. You will need one warm jacket and sweater at Lake Gurudongmar for sure as it is very windy there.

Carry gloves, Winter caps to cover your ears, and scarves to cover the neck.

5. Chapstick, sunscreen lotion and sunglasses

6. You don’t need any special shoes. Just get a pair of sturdy shoes. If you have trekking shoes, it’s good. It’s not a must. But yes, no sandals when we are going to Gurudongmar. So do get a pair of good sturdy shoes for sure, with a good sole that grips the surface.

7. We are trying our bit to make the planet a better place so we do not encourage people carrying or buying plastic bottles. It will be nice if you can each get your own bottle, and we can keep filling it up wherever we stay or visit.

8. Girls, we would recommend you carry sanitary pads/tampons considering how many women have irregular period cycles during travel.

9. These places are absolutely stunning, but some have unpredictable weather throughout the year. In case there is any storm at the lake, and in case weather is terrible, sometimes vehicles are stopped midway and asked to return. But we shouldn’t be facing any such issues, as till now this month they haven’t stopped any vehicles.

10. If you have speakers, please get them. Will be fun to play some music and dance, in the rooms, in the cars and on the roads.

11. If you have cards, uno, frisbee, tennis ball, football, and want to get it along, please do.
