Best Time to Visit
Tamenglong, on the whole, has a pleasant climate. The best time to visit the place is from October to March. The cold season lasts from December to February accompanied by light rainfall. The summers are not so humid.
How to reach?
By Air: The Imphal Airport is the nearest airhead to Tamenglong. Imphal is 158 kilometres from Tamenglong while the airport is situated 8 kilometres from the capital city. The airport is well connected to the major cities of India. From the airpor,t shuttle vehicles can be easily availed to reach Tamenglong.
By Rail: Since Manipur doesn’t have a railhead, the nearest railway station is at Dimapur. To reach Tamenglong, tourists will need to break the journey via Imphal. Dimapur is 215 kilometres from Imphal. Add another 158 kilometres to reach Tamenglong. There are regular vehicles available from both Imphal and Dimapur to reach Tamenglong.
By Road: National Highway 53 and National Highway 39 connect Manipur to the rest of the country. To reach Tamenglong, tourists will need to travel on NH53 via the Old Cachar Road and the Tamenglong Khongsang Road. The state highways also reach Tamenglong from Imphal and are served by the state transport buses.
