Inspiring people from Around the World: Robert Wall

Robert Wall is one of my heroes. He is a professional cliff jumper or as he says “pro cliff yeteer”.

I love watching his videos, and it always makes me feel a range of emotions. The crazy jumps he does, the risk he takes, the beauty he brings to cliff jumping, the love and passion that he has for what he does, the adrenaline rush that he gets from high risk jumping, and nd I get from just watching him, the desire to keep excelling, is what makes him a fantastic character.

But is it worth it to risk so much? Is it worth it to put yourself in danger day after day?

It is difficult to not keep watching him. Especially when what he does is so aesthetically pleasing. The world will always love a character, love the reckless, love one who will not care for his life to pursue something that is beautiful.

The world needs a Robert Wall, just like it needs a Alex Hannold, a Vitaliy Raskalov, ora Virender Sehwag. The world needs mavericks as much as it needs sensible and practical men. It needs an adventurer as much as it needs a engineer. It needs a Michael Angelo as much as it needs an Einstein, a Sherlock as much as a Madam Curie. We do need a Don Quixote in pursuit of his ladylove Dulcinea. The world needs its Robin Hood.

With his jumps, videography and photography, Rob brings sport and art together. This man has the power to make us gasp, overwhelmingly so, and that quality is rare.

The age of discovery and exploration have long left us. Scott, Shackleton, Hillary, those courageous men who stepped into the unknown, travelled over sea for months at a stretch, trudged on ice through storms, risked their lives, and helped mankind chart new borders in science and geography have now become chapters of history.

Adventure activities

We live in a century where we spend more time on a computer than being out there. Rob goes beyond all that and more.

This Guy’s Definitely On His Own Trip.

Neeraj Narayanan

Neeraj Narayanan, a.k.a Captain Nero, is the founder of OHOT. In the summer of 2013, he quit his corporate job and went backpacking around the world. In a year full of (mis)adventures, he ended up being chased by a bear in a Croatian forest, being held at gunpoint by a mafia gang lord in Turkey, running with the bulls in Spain, and dancing in the clubs of Spain and Italy. A year later, he started leading group trips for people.
