How To Reach Thoseghar Waterfalls

At a distance of 26 km from Satara, 73 km from Panchgani, 77 km from Mahabaleshwar, 141 km from Pune & 294 km from Mumbai, Thoseghar Falls is a beautiful waterfalls located at Thoseghar village in Satara district of Maharashtra. Thoseghar falls is among the most one of the best monsoon places near Mumbai.

The sight of waterfall is magical! You get to see the water swishing over the rocks joyfully. It thunders down into a pool like a gigantic water spout.

Satara is well connected to all of Maharashtra through Road and rail transport. Wondering how to get there? There are multiple ways for the same.


To get to Thoseghar Waterfalls, you have to go to Satara first. Satara is just 270 km away from Mumbai and about 130 km away from Pune and has a functional bus stand. From there, you can easily hire a cab or rickshaws for the waterfall.

However, the best way to reach is by a personal or hire vehicle since you can stop in-between the journey and enjoy the scenic beauty. The waterfall is 20 km to 25 km from Satara city. Once you cross the city you come across a tunnel. The road before the tunnel goes to Kaas plateau and the road after crossing the tunnel goes to Thoseghar waterfall.


The nearest airport to Thoseghar Waterfalls is Pune’s Lohegaon Airport, which is 100 km away. The airport is well connected to all major cities of India.

However, the nearest International Airport is Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport, which is 200 km away.

There are direct buses to Satara city from both these cities and Taxis are also available from the two Airports.


Satara Railway Station is the nearest railhead from Thoseghar Waterfalls. There are frequent and regular trains to Satara from Pune, Mumbai, Chennai, New Delhi and Kolkata. Thoseghar waterfall is just 38 km from the railway station.
