Tawang is a scenic town located in the northeast Indian state of Arunachal Pradesh. The 1962 Indo-China war happened around this region yet it shows no traces of that destruction. Surrounded by lakes, valleys, and mountains, the city shares its border with Tibet in the North, Bhutan in the south-west and Sela range in the East.

Nearest Airport is Tezpur. It’s 143 km away, and has good connections to Kolkata and Guwahati. Cabs are available for Tawang from Tezpur.
Nearest International Airport is Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi Airport. Its in Guwahati, about 480 km from Tawang. Many cabs and tour operators are available.
By Road
From Guwahati, it would be a 14 hrs journey approximately.
From Bomdila: ISBT bus is available daily, and it leavesaround 7 am. Takes 9 – 10 hrs. to reach Tawang.
By Rail
There is no railway connectivity within Arunachal Pradesh. However, the nearest railway station is Rangapara in Tezpur, Assam and is connected with a few major cities like New Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai, etc.
