To reach Mawlynnlong, you will have to first get to Shillong and then start your journey from there. You can either take a bus or taxi from Guwahati to Shillong.
Mawlynnong is well-connected to Shillong by road. The route from Guwahati to Mawlynnong via Shillong is extremely scenic. Distance from Shillong to Mawlynnong is just around 78 km and takes 2 hours and 25 minutes by road. Several cabs ply between Guwahati and Shillong and Mawlynnong.
Alternatively, you can also choose to travel to Dawki from Shillong by bus. Dawki is 17 km away from Mawlynnong and buses leave every day from Shillong’s Bara bazaar area to Dawki every morning. From Dawki, you wil get a shared cab to Mawlynnong village.
The best way to reach Mawlynnong by flight is to fly to the Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport in Guwahati which is the nearest airport. One can take the shared cabs, always available outside the Guwahati airport and reach Shillong in 3 hours.
The nearest railway station from Mawlynnong is also at Guwahati. Guwahati railway station to Shillong is around 105 km and then Mawlynnong is another 78 km away. You can hire a cab from Guwahati to take you to Mawlynnong via Shillong.
