If you are planning to travel by airways, then the closest airport will be in Dimapur which is around 74 km away from Kohima. It is a domestic airport and is well connected to major cities.

The second nearest airport is Imphal Airport which is around 145 km from Kohima. It is also a domestic airport. You can easily find taxis and buses from both the airports to reach Kohima.

BY ROAD:

With all the neighboring cities, and states like like Guwahati, Imphal, Shillong and Dimapur, Kohima is well connected by roadways. For all road trip lovers, following the NH 39 is the key route to reach Kohima that connects the city with Dimapur. If approaching directly Kohima from Guwahati then keep on following NH 37.

You can either hire a taxi or drive there yourself. There are buses run by the Nagaland State Road Transport which ply between Dimapur and Kohima. Apart from the government operated buses, there are also private luxury buses and Taxis ply connecting Guwahati, Shillong and almost all the District Headquarters of the state.

BY RAIL:

The nearest Railway station is located in Dimapur, roughly 74 Kms from Kohima. Daily trains for Guwahati, Kolkata, New Delhi and other major cities in the country are available from here.  You can hire a taxi from Dimapur to reach Kohima.
