OHOT trip to kerala

If you are planning for an ideal holiday beach in God’s Own Country, you must visit the Cherai Beach in Kerala!

Located in the Vypin Island of India’s Spice Garden, this is a wonderful place to relax, rejuvenate, and explore the untouched beauty of Kerala. Located around 45km from the heart of Ernakulam city, Cherai Beach offers some of the most stunning views and experience of the mighty Arabian Sea.

BY ROAD:

Trissur and Ernakulam are the two nearest points to reach Cherai Beach by road. From Trissur, travellers should follow the road that leads to Kodangalur and then to Poovar to reach the beach.

From Ernakulam, the new Goshree Bridge from Ernakulam that stretches out across the backwaters connecting the islands of Bolghatty, Mulavukadu, Vallarpadam and Vypin has made it easier to reach.

There is another road route via Edappally to North Paravur and from there to Cherai, a distance of about 25km. KSRTC Central Bus station is near the Ernakulam Junction railway station. It runs express and fast services from Ernakulam to other major cities within Kerala and into the neighbouring states.

However, if you are relying on public transport, the best way to reach Cherai is to take a ferry from Cochin to Vypin. The ride takes less than 10 minutes. Once you get off at Vypin boat Jetty, take a bus to Cherai. Buses are frequent and they usually take less than an hour to reach Cherai.

BY AIR:

Cochin International Airport serves as the nearest airport to the beach, which is 22 km away. This airport is well connected to the major cities in India.

BY RAIL:

For those beach lovers who want to reach Cherai by train, Ernakulam Railway Station is the nearest station, which is around 26 km away. From there, you can board a bus from the KSRTC Central Bus Station to get to Vypin Islands.
