Imagine alpine meadows of conifer forest, beautiful waterfalls, snow-white glaciers and a crescent shaped lake. And now imagine yourself there. In the heart of Himalayas, lies a trek which itself has stolen a lot of hearts. Hampta Pass is a trek famous for its beauty as well as the accessibility. The trek can be undertaken by beginners and seasoned trekkers alike.
The trek starts from Jobra, a small hamlet in Kullu valley. Away from the hustle bustle of cities, you will feel a new sense of calm which will last throughout the trek. The journey starts through zestful forests of pines, maples, and birches which lead you to the vast green meadows with horses galloping on them. Fiery red rhododendrons accompanied with multicolour wildflowers impart colours to this green valley.

And while during the day, you enjoy the panaroma in front of you, night comes with a sky full of stars.  One of the best part about being here are those campsites, where you sit with your friends, sharing funny anecdotes, eating one of the tastiest meals and enjoy your time with nature.

As you go up, the snow covered mountains are closer, the air is pure and the world looks so much better.  From the top, you can witness the Pirpanjal Range. Hold on to the moment as the breathtaking views of the mountains rise into the clear blue sky. This is your well-deserved and hard-earned reward.

The return journey has one more gem in store for you. We all love surprises and especially the one which comes in the form of a stunning blue lake. Located in the Spiti region, Chandratal Lake is where you end the trek. The lake is deliciously blue and the crystal clear waters of the lake shine in many shades of blue depending upon its depth and with the sunlight. Surrounded by snowcapped peaks on three sides, the lake encircles a vast meadow that is covered with different kind of flowers. The entire setting feels unreal as if you have entered a painting.
