How to reach dzukou valley

The Dzukou Valley is in Nagaland, and is one of the most extraordinary places to visit in India.

The best time to visit Dzukou Valley is from May to mid June, and September to October end.  During this time, the light rains make the mountains turn greener, and the landscape is surreal.

Temperatures are around 17-20 degrees in the day, and  between 5-8 degrees at night, in these  months.

It must be remembered that at Dzukou Valley, when you climb to the top, there are just two wood cabins. One of them has a wooden floor, and the other has a stone floor. The latter feels absolutely frozen at night, and one must carry their own blankets on this trek. People can also carry their own tents and warm sleeping bags.

In July and August there is a lot of rain, and there will be leeches too on the trekking route.

From December to March, the mountains aren’t as green as in the summer months.

However, the Hornbill festival taking place in December attracts a lot of tourists. Its a festival showcasing the folk dances, music and culture of the different Naga tribes and travellers can visit that and then do the Dzukou Valley trek.
