On His Own Trip

Abhay Tyagi

Abhay first travelled with Nero in the December of 2018. Nero took a liking to him, when they were wishfully wanting to find a way down Ratnagiri fort, all the way down to the rocky coast, and everyone else thought it was impossible. Together, the duo found a slippery, steeply descending adventurous route and took the batch much to everyone’s joy.

Abhay returned to do a Meghalaya trip with Nero in April 2019. Post that they spent a lot of time in Mumbai together and the brotherhood grew stronger. Over the course of the next year and a half, Abhay also did Bhutan and Kashmir and a lot of weekend trips with Nero, but he was no longer just a tripper. He was now helping out the trip leader on all the trips he was part of.

In March 2021, Abhay lead his first ever trip, to Bir Barot. He returned four five days later with a lot of stories and rave reviews.

The thing about Abhay is that he is the most decent guy you will ever meet. Very responsible, very caring, he is far more mature than his age suggests.  A gem of a human being, he is universally liked. A chai lover, he can make you the best chai you ever had, in seconds.

When he is not trekking up some mountain, sharing some grizzly ghost stories, or playing perfect host to all his friends, he likes to stare at maps and chalk out new destinations to visit.

Abhay has also covered Kashmir extensively, trekking in Aru Valley, traipsing through Gurez Valley, and next plans to trek in the mountains of Nepal.
